About this downloader

Reddit videos and their sound

SaveVideo is a Reddit video downloader that saves the video from a post as an MP4 file, in up to 1080p, or just its sound as MP3. It takes the share links the Reddit app gives you as well as links copied from a browser, and you don’t need a Reddit account.

Reddit links that work

The Reddit video downloader takes links from www, old and new Reddit, short redd.it links, v.redd.it video links and the /s/ share links from the Reddit app. A link to a whole subreddit won’t work, because it isn’t one video.

Video or sound

Pick a video quality, up to 1080p when the post has it, or MP3 when you only want the sound: a song someone played, a clip from a talk, a voice you want to keep.

Ready in seconds

Short clips are quick: a clip under a minute can be ready to save a few seconds after you pick a quality.

FAQ

Questions about downloading from Reddit

Can I download a Reddit video on my phone?

Yes. The Reddit video downloader works in your phone’s browser. In the Reddit app, tap Share on the post, then Copy link, and paste it here. That link has /s/ in it, and SaveVideo follows it to the post. The file lands in your downloads like any other.

Can I save only the sound of a Reddit video?

Yes. After you paste the link, pick MP3 instead of a video quality. You get the post’s sound as an MP3 file, which suits music, voices and clips from talks. For a choice of bitrate, SaveMP3, our sister site for audio, has a Reddit to MP3 page.

What should I do if a Reddit video won’t download?

Open the post yourself first: SaveVideo can’t save a removed or deleted post. Then check you copied the whole link, not part of it. If the post plays for you and still fails here, send us the link through the contact page so we can try it ourselves.
