Keep only the part you want

Tap Trim, set where the audio should start and end, and SaveVideo saves just that stretch. A two-minute chorus from a half-hour concert comes out as a two-minute MP3.

Long videos are fine

On the website, MP3 accepts longer videos than MP4 does: HD video needs a video under 10 minutes, and 360p stops at 3 hours. That makes MP3 the format for full podcasts, lectures and DJ sets.

What bitrate is the MP3?

The YouTube to MP3 tool saves one MP3 per video and picks the bitrate for you, so there is nothing to set. If you want to choose it, from 128 to 320 kbps, use SaveMP3, our sister site for audio. Its Settings has an Audio quality option, and it can trim the file too.

Can I save only part of a YouTube video as MP3?

Yes. After you paste the link, tap Trim and set a start and an end. Only that part is saved, so a 20-second moment from a long video becomes a 20-second MP3. Tap Reset to go back to the whole video.

Is there a length limit for YouTube to MP3?

Yes, 4 hours on the website. A longer video won’t save as MP3 here. On a computer, the free SaveVideo.net Helper for Chrome saves MP3 from the YouTube page itself, with no length limit and no hourly count, so it suits recordings longer than 4 hours.
